ECERS-3: Math materials and activities 7.3 - Some appropriate math activites requiring more teacher input are used (Ex: sort seashells by type on a chart and compare more and less; read thermometer to chart daily temperature; measure while doing cooking activity).

ECERS-3: Understanding written numbers 5.3 - Staff show children how to use materials and talk about the meaning of printed numbers (Ex: count objects with child and read the number; use "first, second, third" as child uses printed number sequence; point out numbers on rulers or thermometers, showing how they indicate differences in size or amount).
